The recent form makes for tough reading. Looking at the last six races, the finishing positions read 8th, 11th, 9th, 8th, 11th, and 6th — no real improvement, no hint of a breakthrough lurking around the corner. At the Class 4 level where Majestic Leo typically competes, these are races a horse of this age ought to be competitive in. Instead, it has drawn a blank in all five races at that level, which suggests the horse is finding even this tier a step too far on a consistent basis.
To be fair to the yard, G Brown has sent out a winner this season, so the stable is capable of getting results. Majestic Leo just hasn't been the one delivering them. Having raced as recently as yesterday, at least the yard — the team — are keeping the horse active and looking for a race that might finally unlock something. But after 15 attempts without a win, optimism has to be measured carefully.
