He does his work at Class 5 level, which is the bread-and-butter end of British racing — competitive enough, but not where the big prize money flows. His two wins from 17 races at that level work out at roughly 12%, or just over 1 in every 8 attempts, which is a fair return for where he operates. His most recent win came at Perth in June 2025, which was almost certainly a summer's day on a sun-baked track in Scotland, and it remains his career highlight for now.

Bruce Lynn rides him most often — seven times together — and they have won once as a partnership, a rate of around 1 in 7. That is a decent record at this level, and the familiarity between horse and jockey is clearly something trainer N W Alexander values. The yard, based in Leslie in Fife, has sent out 18 winners this season, so they are not short of horses in form. Alexander knows what he is doing with his string.

What makes Maillot Blanc worth watching now is the break. He has not raced for 124 days — just over four months — and his last six results read 8-2-7-4-1-5, which is a mixed picture: a win, a second, but also a few disappointing days. Horses returning from a layoff can go either way, and with just a 2 from 26 career record, there is no guarantee of a smooth comeback. But that win at Perth is recent enough to show there is still something there. He is a horse that has been around long enough to know what racing asks of him, and every now and then, he delivers it.
