What makes this worth watching is context. She raced just yesterday, so this is a horse very much in the middle of her story rather than at the end of it. Four races is still a small sample, and plenty of horses take time to find their footing. The question is whether the finishing positions — all deep in the field — reflect inexperience, the wrong conditions, or simply that she hasn't found her best yet.

She is trained by John and Rhys Flint, a father-and-son yard based in Kenfig Hill in Bridgend, Wales. Seven winners this season tells you this is a team that knows how to get a horse ready to win — so if Lynda's Dream hasn't delivered yet, it isn't for lack of capable hands around her. The Flints will have a clearer picture than anyone of whether improvement is coming.
