The overall career record — 3 wins and 5 places from 15 races, a win rate of roughly 1 in every 5 — is solid without being flashy. The horse competes mostly at Class 5 level, which is towards the bottom end of the racing ladder, and the record there is tighter: just 1 win from 8 races at that level. What that tells you is that Lunanova often runs in competitive fields but saves its best for one particular venue.

The ground matters too. On normal conditions — a standard surface, neither waterlogged nor baked hard — Lunanova has won 2 from 4 races, a 50% win rate that is genuinely striking. Those two wins from four attempts suggest a horse that performs to a completely different level when conditions are just right.

Whether the key is simply waiting for the next Brighton entry on decent ground — where the record is exceptional — will be the question occupying the Dace team as the season develops.
