Both wins came in a tight four-month window back in 2022 and early 2023 — first at Limerick in November 2022, then at Naas in February 2023. Since that Naas win, now 40 months ago, Luimneach hasn't been back to the winner's enclosure. The recent form confirms the picture: no win in the last six races, with a second place the brightest spot in that run. At this stage of a horse's career, stringing wins together is harder, and that gap tells its own story.

Where Luimneach does show some promise is over longer distances — between a mile and six furlongs and two miles, the horse has won 1 from 4 races at those trips, a 25% win rate that comfortably outstrips the overall career numbers. In simple terms, give Luimneach a proper test of stamina and the chances improve noticeably. That's a useful thing to know.

The partnership with jockey Aidan Kelly is worth noting. In seven races together, Kelly has been on board for both career wins — that's 2 wins from 7 rides, or roughly 1 in every 3 and a half races together. For a horse who wins about 1 in 11 overall, that's a meaningful difference, and it suggests the two have built up a useful understanding. Trainer Conor O'Dwyer, based at Friarstown in County Kildare, has sent out four winners already this season, so the yard is in decent form. Luimneach raced just one day ago and is clearly still in active training, which means there are presumably more chapters still to come.
