The career began to click at Tramore in late May 2025, and from there Love Me Tender has been consistently competitive. Three wins from six races, with five places from those same six outings, means it has essentially never had a bad day at the office. The recent form reading of 3–-–3–1–1–1 tells you everything: three wins on the spin before a short break, and a couple of placed efforts since returning. A horse that wins three in a row and then places in its comeback races is not losing form — it is simply a horse at the top of its game taking a breather.
One number stands out above all others: on slightly soft, or what you might call damp, ground, Love Me Tender has won all three of its races. That is a 100% record — three from three. In racing, very few horses have a clean sweep on any surface, and when a horse shows that kind of preference, it becomes one of the first things a trainer looks for when entries open. The weather forecast suddenly matters a great deal.
The trainer in question is W P Mullins, based in Co Carlow — one of the most successful yards in the sport. This season alone, that stable has sent out 237 winners. Being trained there is a bit like playing for a top football club: the resources and expertise are exceptional, and horses that show real talent tend to get the opportunities to prove it. Love Me Tender last won at Tipperary in early October 2025, and after a 55-day break, the team will be watching the skies carefully for the right conditions to bring this horse back to its very best.
