Love A Giggle

The last five months tell a different story, though. Love A Giggle hasn't found the winner's circle since York, recording a pair of fourth-place finishes and a couple of mid-field efforts in between. The most recent form—fourth, fifteenth, fourth, twentieth, then wins at the start—shows the inconsistency you'd expect from a two-year-old still learning the game. But the fact that the horse raced just a day ago suggests the yard is keeping it active and engaged, testing it in different conditions and competitions.

Trainer K. R. Burke, based in Coverham, North Yorkshire, has had an exceptional season with 145 winners already, so Love A Giggle is in a busy, successful yard. Whether this horse can regain the form that produced those two early victories remains the open question. At two years old, there's plenty of racing ahead, and a young horse that has already won twice at decent tracks has shown enough to suggest better days could be coming.
