Lou Des Bordes

Trained by Nick Kent out of Brigg in Lincolnshire, Lou Des Bordes is part of a yard that has managed one winner this season, which gives a sense of the scale of operation. Small yards can absolutely produce winners — racing is full of stories about little stables punching above their weight — but with limited ammunition, every race has to count, and so far this horse hasn't been able to deliver.

Whether the right race, the right conditions, or simply a bit more time will unlock something better remains to be seen. Lou Des Bordes is still active and has plenty of racing ahead, but on the evidence to date, punters will need to see a very different performance before taking much of an interest.
