In its last six outings, Lochaber has placed twice—finishing fourth, then eighth, then sixth, twelfth, ninth, and seventh—results that suggest it remains capable of competitive performances without quite sealing a win. Scott Dixon trains Lochaber at Rolleston in Nottinghamshire, a yard that sent out 35 winners this season, indicating a reasonably productive operation. The real challenge for this horse is that it typically competes in Class 5 races, the lower tier of competition, yet has managed no wins from 13 attempts at that level. The single victory came in easier company, which hints that Lochaber may have found its ceiling.
