Livenka

The recent form tells an interesting story. After victories at Fairyhouse on 8 July and Naas on 3 August, Livenka hit a quiet spell through the autumn. Over the last six races — most recent first — the horse ran second, then fourth, then a pair of solid third-place finishes sandwiching a first-place result, and most recently that second again. It's the kind of pattern you see in young horses stepping up in class or simply maturing into their work. Seven weeks have passed since the last win, but the placings suggest Livenka remains competitive and is learning to handle tougher company.

All of this is happening under the roof of G. M. Lyons at Dunsany in County Meath, one of Ireland's most successful training operations. Lyons has already sent out 43 winners this season alone, so Livenka is in an environment where winners are made regularly. For a two-year-old still finding its way, that's invaluable — the yard knows how to develop young talent and how to pick the right races. Livenka's record suggests it belongs among horses worth following closely as the season progresses.
