Trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien at Owning Hill in County Kilkenny, Light Up The Dark is part of one of the most productive yards in Ireland right now. O'Brien's team has sent out 154 winners already this season — a number that puts them firmly in elite company and tells you something about the standard of operation behind this horse. When a yard is firing at that volume, the horses in their care tend to be well-placed and well-prepared, and Light Up The Dark's record suggests it has benefited from exactly that.

The horse got off the mark at Naas in January 2025 and has been building ever since. Recent form of 1-4-3-1-7-7, read from most recent backwards, tells an interesting story.
