What's encouraging is the timing. Liberate raced just yesterday, meaning this is a horse right in the thick of an active campaign, with trainer Harry Eustace clearly willing to keep rolling the dice. Eustace operates out of Newmarket in Suffolk — one of the most famous racing towns in the world, home to some of the sport's most prestigious yards — and his team has been in fine form this season, sending out 24 winners. That's a busy, confident yard, and the fact that Liberate is still being entered and raced suggests the team believes there's a win in there somewhere.
At this stage, patience is the only sensible response. Two races is a very small sample, and a third-place finish means Liberate has already beaten horses — it's the winner's enclosure that remains elusive. With a yard firing on all cylinders behind it, don't write this one off just yet.
