That sole win came at Bellewstown in July 2024, now nearly two years ago. Bellewstown is a small, characterful track on a hilltop in County Meath, and while winning there is no small thing, Lethimfly hasn't been able to build on it. The last six races tell a difficult story: finishing positions of 10th, 2nd, a blank, 14th, 3rd, and 11th suggest a horse that blows hot and cold — capable of running into a place, but just as likely to find the day passing it by entirely.
The partnership with Colin Keane is worth noting. Keane is one of Ireland's most decorated jockeys, and in five rides together he has steered Lethimfly to that one win — a 20% win rate, or 1 from 5, which is actually a solid return given the horse's overall record. Whether that combination gets more chances to click remains to be seen.
Lethimfly is trained by Noel Meade at his yard in Castletown, County Meath — an operation that has sent out 42 winners already this season, so the infrastructure and know-how are clearly there. Meade is a trainer who has handled horses at the very highest level over a long career, which means Lethimfly is in capable hands even if it hasn't yet repaid the faith with a second victory. The horse raced just yesterday, so it is very much an active campaign — and with a yard in that kind of form, another opportunity won't be far away.
