Leave Her To Me

The partnership with jockey Nick Slatter has been productive. Together they have won twice from seven races (29%), a win rate that hints at a real understanding between rider and horse. What's interesting about the current form, though, is the inconsistency. In the last six runs, Leave Her To Me has managed one win, one second place, and a fifth — but also a ninth. These are the kinds of results that frustrate the yard; there is clearly ability there, but something isn't quite clicking right now. The yard of Killahena & McPherson, based at Stow-on-the-Wold in Gloucestershire, knows the horse well, and they have been prolific this season with 18 winners sent out, so the training is clearly sound.

The longest drought came between the last win at Warwick on 5 May 2025 and now — 16 months without a victory is a tough spell for any horse, though the placing record suggests Leave Her To Me has still been competitive. At eight years old, the horse is in the veteran phase of its racing life, and horses at this age often settle into a pattern: reliable, honest, but rarely transformative. Given that it was active as recently as a day ago, Leave Her To Me is clearly still fighting for wins. Whether the next one comes soon depends on finding the right race at the right time — and the right ground.
