However, Le Coq Hardi's regular rider Darragh O'Keeffe has yet to taste victory aboard him from six attempts, which suggests either that the pairing is still finding its rhythm or that the horse simply performs better for other jockeys. At seven years old, Le Coq Hardi is in his prime and still active — he raced just a day ago — so he remains a work in progress rather than a fading prospect. Whether he can break out of his pattern of feast and famine will depend largely on ground conditions and the timing of his entries.
