Many horses take time to find their feet, and finishing sixth or eighth doesn't necessarily mean the performances were without merit — it depends heavily on the size of the field and the quality of the competition. What's clear is that she hasn't yet found the right opportunity to show what she can do.

At this early stage, Lady V is essentially an open question. Her team will be looking for a race that suits her better, whether that means a change of distance, different ground conditions, or simply a smaller, more winnable field. There is nothing here yet to write off, and plenty of racing still ahead.
