Lady Mary Heath

Her recent form makes for mixed reading. A third-place finish sits in there, which represents her best effort and the one moment where she ran with genuine purpose, but either side of it the results drop away — fourth, seventh, and a couple of efforts so far back in the field they barely register. She raced just yesterday, so she is very much in the middle of her season with more chances to come.

She is trained by Aidan Anthony Howard at the Curragh in Co Kildare, one of the heartlands of Irish racing. The yard has sent out two winners this season, so it is not a yard without firepower — but Lady Mary Heath has not yet been the horse to add to that tally. Whether a change of tactics, trip, or ground conditions unlocks something better remains to be seen. For now, she is a horse still searching for her moment.
