What we can say is that the breeding is interesting. Komorebi is by Pinatubo, who was one of the most exciting young horses in Europe during his own racing career, and is out of a Street Cry mare, a stallion whose influence on the thoroughbred world has been vast. On paper, that is a combination built for speed and class.
Fabre himself needs little introduction. He is one of the most decorated trainers in French racing history, and his Chantilly yard has already sent out three winners this season — a yard that knows how to get a horse ready. When a trainer of that calibre bothers to run an unraced three-year-old, it is usually because they have seen enough at home to think the horse is ready. Whether Komorebi can deliver on debut remains to be seen, but she arrives in the right hands.
