King's Road Dandy

Trained by the husband-and-wife team of David and Nicola Barron at their yard in Maunby, North Yorkshire, King's Road Dandy is in active hands. The Barrons have sent out 15 winners already this season, which tells you this is a yard that knows how to get results. A team turning out winners at that rate doesn't tend to keep running a horse it has no faith in — if they're putting King's Road Dandy on the track, they see something worth developing.

Having raced just yesterday, this is a horse very much in the middle of its story. At three years old, most racehorses are still working out what they're doing, and two placed efforts from three attempts — without a single win to show for it — can simply mean the right race hasn't come along yet. The first win, when it arrives, will make the record look entirely different.
