Khepri

Trained by K. R. Burke at Coverham in North Yorkshire, Khepri is part of a yard in excellent form this season—Burke's team has already saddled 145 winners. That kind of record suggests the trainer knows how to get horses to the track ready to run, so Khepri's lack of success so far is worth watching. Sometimes horses take time to put it all together, especially at three years old when they're still developing. With consistent fourth-place finishes in recent runs, there's at least a pattern of competitive racing rather than being out of its depth. Whether Khepri can convert that consistency into a win will be the next chapter.
