What is worth noting is the yard behind it. Richard and Peter Fahey operate out of Musley Bank in North Yorkshire, and with 23 winners already on the board this season they are clearly a team in form. A stable that productive tends to know what it has, and the fact that Khazamh keeps getting runs suggests they believe there is something worth persisting with. Whether that faith is rewarded remains to be seen — the horse ran just yesterday, so it is very much in the thick of its campaign right now.

At this stage, Khazamh is a work in progress. No wins, no places, and results that have generally seen it finish in the bottom half of the field. For a two-year-old, there is still time to improve — plenty of horses take a few runs to click — but it will need to show considerably more next time out to suggest the Fahey team's patience is paying off.
