What makes this worth watching, though, is who has the horse in their care. Chris Gordon's yard at Morestead in Hampshire has sent out 51 winners already this season — that's a serious operation, and Gordon clearly knows how to place horses and get the best out of them. A trainer running at that volume of winners tends to be patient and methodical, and a horse like this, still only 4 and still finding its feet, is exactly the kind of project a busy, confident yard backs themselves to improve. Khalk'eau Spigao raced just yesterday, so this is a horse very much in active campaign — something is clearly being tried and tested right now.
The honest assessment is that there's nothing yet to hang your hat on. No wins, no placings, and a recent run of mid-pack finishes. But being trained by a yard firing on all cylinders, and still young enough to develop, means the story isn't over. The next race will be worth a look.
