The most recent runs tell an interesting story. Starting from the back with finishes of third, seventh, and eighth (reading oldest to most recent), there is a visible dip in form after that encouraging third. Whether that reflects tougher competition, ground conditions, or simply a young horse still finding its feet is hard to say, but at three years old there is plenty of time to turn things around. Kenkelly raced just one day ago, so is very much in active campaign.

The trainer is Tom Clover, who operates out of Newmarket — one of the most famous racing towns in the world and home to some of the sport's sharpest yards. Clover has sent out 23 winners this season alone, which tells you this is a stable that knows how to get horses winning. For a horse like Kenkelly, being in that kind of environment matters. The question is simply when, not whether, the team will find the right opportunity to get off the mark.
