There is, however, a sliver of encouragement in the detail. Keats House is genuinely better at certain distances. Over a mile and one to a mile and two furlongs, the horse has won two of fourteen races—a 14 percent win rate—which is a fair bit sharper than its overall record. More telling still is what happens when the horse steps into Class 6 races, the lower tier of competition. In those nine races, Keats House has won two of them, a win rate of 22 percent. Put the two things together and the picture becomes clearer: this is a horse that has shown it can win, but only when the conditions and the company are exactly right. Strip away those advantages and the results fall apart.

The partnership with jockey Billy Garritty has not yielded anything. In nine rides together, Garritty has guided Keats House to no wins at all. Trainer Michael and David Easterby, who run a prolific yard at Sheriff Hutton in North Yorkshire—55 winners sent out this season—may be looking for a change if the current pairing does not spark soon. The horse was last out just yesterday and finished fifth, which means it is still racing regularly. At this stage, Keats House needs to rediscover the form that produced that first win at Beverley back in July 2025. The window for that is narrowing.
