Trained by Declan Carroll out of Malton in North Yorkshire, Kasgani is at least in capable hands. Carroll's yard has sent out 22 winners already this season, so the operation clearly knows how to get horses to the front. The question is whether Kasgani can find a way to translate effort into victory — it raced just one day ago, so it is very much an active project, and Carroll will be looking for the right opportunity to turn things around.
The recent form makes for sobering reading: finishing sixth, third, fifth, seventh, fifth, and fifth in its last six races. That solitary third is the one bright spot in an otherwise frustrating sequence. Horses do find their level eventually, and Carroll's team will be working to find the right race and the right conditions to give Kasgani its best chance. For now, it remains one of racing's many works in progress — a horse with everything still to prove.
