Jukebox Annie

Her two wins came more than a year apart, which tells its own story. The first arrived at Newton Abbot in September 2023, and the second at Taunton in November 2024. Since that Taunton success, now over six months ago, she has gone six races without finding the winner's enclosure again, with her recent form reading 5-–-4-–-6-6 — a sequence of mid-field and back-of-the-pack finishes that suggests she is currently finding things difficult. The dashes in that sequence indicate she did not finish on those occasions, which adds another layer of frustration to her recent record.

What keeps things interesting is that she raced just yesterday, so she is clearly still being campaigned actively. At seven, she is an experienced horse who knows her job, and trainers do not keep running horses unless they believe there is still a race to be won. Whether Jukebox Annie can rediscover the form that got her to Taunton's winner's enclosure remains to be seen, but her team clearly has not given up on her yet.
