Judicature

The partnership with Tom Eaves, the jockey who has ridden Judicature in five of those twelve races, has yielded nothing yet. That might matter less than it appears; Eaves is clearly not the issue, and a change of rider at some point could spark improvement elsewhere. What is harder to ignore is Judicature's blank record in Class 4 races — the mid-tier level where many horses find their ceiling. Three runs at that grade, no wins. The good news is that High Eldwick, the yard of Joel Parkinson and Sue Smith in West Yorkshire, is firing this season with 42 winners already, so the horse has a trainer and team behind it capable of getting results. Judicature was last seen just a day ago, still competing, still seeking that second win that has eluded it for nearly a year. If it can be dropped back to the sweet spot of five to six and a half furlongs in a race where the pace suits, there is at least a chance.
