The recent form makes for interesting reading. A fourth last time out might look like a step back, but read it alongside the second-place finish before that and you can see a horse that regularly runs well enough to matter. Plenty of two-year-olds take time to put it all together, and with an active campaign still under way — having raced just yesterday — there is every chance the win comes sooner rather than later.

The trainer, P Twomey, operates out of Cashel in County Tipperary, and this season the yard has been in fine form, sending out 35 winners. That is the kind of output that tells you horses leave that stable fit, well-prepared, and pointed at the right races. When a young horse like Joga Bonito is part of a yard firing on all cylinders, it tends to get every opportunity to show what it can do.
