The wins that matter most both came in 2025, and they are serious prizes. In June, he won a Class 2 race at Epsom — one of the most technically demanding tracks in the country — with jockey Jason Hart taking him wide to keep his momentum going, having been caught in traffic on the same track years earlier. Then in August he went one better, winning a Class 1 race at Goodwood. That is the top tier of British racing. Trainers John and Sean Quinn had spotted that the race might be there for the taking, and when rain softened the ground and the pace turned frenetic at the start, Jm Jungle — who loves being dragged into a flat-out sprint — was exactly where he needed to be.

Goodwood has become something of a second home. He has won 2 of his 3 races there, which is a remarkable return at a track that trips up far more expensive horses regularly. Most of his career has been spent in Class 2 races — the second-highest level in Britain — where he has won 2 from 19, or roughly 1 in every 9. That might sound modest, but Class 2 races draw consistently strong fields, and finishing in the top three in 11 of those 19 is the record of a horse who belongs there.

Much of that consistency is down to the partnership with Hart, who has been on board for all six wins from 29 races together — a win rate of 21%, or just over 1 in every 5 rides. Hart has described him as a genuine five-furlong specialist who just wants pace and space, and that assessment has aged well. His recent form reads 4-6-1-3 in his last four completed races, with a win sandwiched between solid placings. He raced just yesterday and is very much in the thick of his season. The Quinn yard has sent out 44 winners already this season — this is a stable in form, and Jm Jungle looks like one of their flagbearers.
