The recent form figures of 7-4-5-9-6-3 read like a horse searching for its best. That third-place finish a little further back is the highlight, suggesting there is some ability there, but the more recent efforts — finishing fifth, then ninth, then seventh — point to a horse that has struggled to build on its better days. Racing just yesterday, Jet Renegade is clearly an active campaigner, and the team will be hoping the right race comes along to unlock whatever potential is sitting beneath those frustrating figures.
The trainer is Andrew Kinirons, working out of Newbridge in County Kildare. The yard has sent out six winners this season, which shows it is capable of getting horses to the track in winning form. Kinirons will be the one best placed to identify where Jet Renegade fits — and finding the right spot for a horse that has yet to win is very much a puzzle worth solving. The first victory, when it comes, will have been a long time coming.
