Jerrari

Both of those wins came in a tight three-week window last summer. The first arrived at Roscommon on 7 July 2025, followed by a second at Galway on 28 July — two wins in less than a month from a horse that had been waiting patiently for its moment. Galway in late July is one of the great festival meetings in Irish racing, so landing a winner there is no small thing. That win now sits 10 months in the past, and Jerrari hasn't been able to reproduce it across the last six races, which is clearly what the team will be looking to change.

The ground makes a real difference with this horse. On normal conditions Jerrari has won 2 from 8 races — that's 1 in every 4, a far better return than its overall record suggests. Get the ground right and you're looking at a genuinely competitive horse; get it wrong and you're probably watching from a distance.

The partnership with jockey Donagh Meyler is worth noting too. In seven races together they've won twice — that's winning nearly 1 in every 3 rides, which is a strong ratio by any measure. When Meyler is in the saddle, Jerrari clearly goes up a gear. Mrs Harrington's yard has sent out 54 winners already this season, so this is a trainer operating at a high level, and Jerrari is one of a string of horses she knows how to place well.

At six years old, Jerrari is in its prime. It raced just yesterday, so it's very much in active campaign mode right now. The form over the last six runs — finishing fourth being the best of it — suggests the yard is still searching for the right opportunity to unlock another win. But a horse that goes 2 from 8 on its preferred ground, with a jockey who gets results nearly a third of the time, isn't one to write off lightly.
