The partnership with amateur jockey Mr A P Kennedy has been given every chance to click — they have teamed up eight times together, which is a serious commitment — but that combination has yet to produce a single win or even a placed finish. At some point, persistence starts to look like optimism.
Je Suis is trained by S Curling at Cashel in County Tipperary, and it would be unfair to lay this record entirely at the yard's door. The stable has sent out 14 winners this season, so the operation clearly knows how to get a horse to the track in winning form. Je Suis, for whatever reason, simply hasn't found a way to translate that into results. The horse ran just one day ago, so is very much still in active service — which at least says something about its soundness and the team's willingness to keep trying.
