Trained by Kieran P Cotter out of Portarlington in County Laois, Jampa Ling is part of a yard that has sent out six winners already this season, so the operation clearly knows how to get a horse to the line first. The fact that this particular horse has not yet managed it suggests the right opportunity simply hasn't arrived — or that it is still maturing into one.

The recent form makes for mixed reading. The last six runs include a third-place finish, which shows there is ability there, but also a couple of ninth-place efforts that suggest some inconsistency. With a race just one day ago, Jampa Ling is clearly being kept busy, and sometimes that persistence from a trainer is a signal that they believe a breakthrough is close. Whether that belief is rewarded remains to be seen.
