The recent form makes for sobering reading: two finishes outside the placings, a fourth, and another pair of blanks. The spark that lit up that winter hasn't reappeared.

What keeps it interesting is that Jakana raced just one day ago, so this is a horse still very much in action and being campaigned actively. At 7, it isn't young, but plenty of horses at this level find another moment at this age.
