Jardine's yard has been in fine form this season, sending out 57 winners, and Izzari has played his small but pleasing part. He got his career off the ground at Newcastle in December 2024, and after targeting some of the season's Sunday Series bonus races — a circuit of races that offers extra prize money to horses who string results together — he returned to his favourite track in September 2025 and won again. That was ten months ago now, and his last six runs have not produced a win, the most recent finishing sixth. But the trainer's attitude to that is relaxed rather than worried, with the Ayr Western meeting mentioned as a possible next target. Sometimes a horse just needs the right track, and Izzari has already shown he knows where that is.
His best work comes at Class 5, which is the entry level of British racing — but winning 3 from 9 races at that level (1 in every 3) is a healthy record for any horse operating there. Jockey Mohammed Tabti has been his most regular partner, riding him nine times and winning twice together — a win rate of 22%, or roughly 1 in every 4-and-a-half rides. That is a solid combination at this level. Izzari is not a horse that will trouble the top races, but Jardine clearly knows what he has — a fun, consistent performer who earns his keep when the conditions suit, and who has a track he genuinely seems to enjoy.
