Is Charlie Around

The recent form makes for interesting reading. Ignoring the two runs where it didn't complete, the horse has finished second, third, and second in three of its last four completed races. That is a horse knocking hard on the door. It ran just three days ago, so it is fit, active, and clearly being kept busy by the yard in search of that elusive breakthrough.

Ricky Doyle has been the regular partner, riding Is Charlie Around in six of its races together — and they are still looking for win number one as a combination. Zero from six is not a crisis, but it does underline that this is a horse which has made a habit of getting close without converting. At some point the pieces have to fall into place. Whether that moment comes soon is the question everyone around this horse will be asking.
