Two different tracks, two wins within a couple of months — that is a horse hitting a genuine purple patch. The flip side is that it has been off the track for around six months since that Clonmel win, and any horse returning from that kind of break is an unknown quantity until you see it race again.

It suggests the horse is built for that particular test: not a flat-out sprinter, not a true stayer, but something in between that thrives when there's enough of a test without becoming a grind.

When a jockey and horse click like that, continuity matters.
