Into The Sky

The horse is trained by Jim Boyle at Epsom in Surrey, a yard that has sent out 23 winners so far this season — a solid, consistent operation. Boyle's team clearly know what they are doing with a young horse: Into The Sky has been given time between its two runs rather than being rushed, and that patient approach has produced a winner.

The one thing to factor in is the gap since we last saw this horse. It has been roughly six months since that Newbury win in August, and a break of that length always raises a question mark about sharpness on the day of return. That said, trainers as experienced as Boyle do not bring horses back until they are ready, and the underlying record — placed in both races, never out of the top three — suggests there is a horse here with a genuine level of ability. With more races ahead and only two appearances on the clock, Into The Sky is still very much a horse with a story to tell.
