What's worth watching, though, is the drought. The last win came at Chester on 13 June 2025, and that's fifteen months back. In the meantime, Impartiality has picked up six second places and a few far worse finishes, most recently returning 2-2-2-8-9-4 across the last six races. Those couple of runner-up efforts suggest it's still competitive, but something has shifted. The horse races typically in Class 5 company, where it has two wins from six outings, and trainer Phillip Makin's Easingwold yard is productive enough — nine winners this season — so the machinery seems sound. Still, after fifteen months without breaking the tape, Impartiality needs normal ground and the right circumstances to wake up again. It raced just yesterday, so there's no sense of it being shelved; Makin is still testing the horse to find a race it can win. On the right day, particularly if that ground stays firm and dry, it could surprise.
