Immortal Guard is a two-year-old trained by Robson De Aguiar out of a yard in Mullingar, County Westmeath. The horse broke through at The Curragh on 4th May 2026, one of Ireland's most prestigious tracks and the kind of venue where winning as a young, lightly-raced horse actually means something. From two career races, there is already a win and two places on the board — a record that, however small the sample, reads cleanly. Win one from two, place in both. Half the races entered have been won.
De Aguiar's yard has sent out 11 winners already this season, which suggests this is not a quiet backwater operation making up the numbers. Eleven winners from a base in Mullingar points to a trainer who knows what he is doing and who picks his spots carefully. Immortal Guard, fresh from that Curragh win just three weeks ago and last seen on a racecourse only yesterday, looks like a horse being kept busy for good reason.
Two races is almost nothing to go on, and it would be unwise to get carried away. But the combination of a debut place followed by a win at a top-class track, under a trainer in form, makes Immortal Guard one of the more interesting young horses to keep an eye on as the season develops.
