Ibtekar

Ibtekar has run just once so far. The two-year-old finished third on its debut a day ago, which is a respectable start for a horse making its first appearance on the track. With Ed Walker's Upper Lambourn yard in strong form this season—already sending out 76 winners—there will be genuine interest in how Ibtekar develops from here. Early races often tell you very little about a horse's true ability, and a young runner that stays close to the pace on debut has shown enough to warrant watching. Whether Ibtekar has the makings of something better will only become clear over the next few weeks and months as it gains experience and races again.
