The really intriguing part is what comes next. Goldie has the Northumberland Plate at Newcastle on the radar — a two-mile race, a proper occasion, a big step up in class. The trip would be new territory and getting into the race may require Humble Spark to be assigned a higher weight than ideal. But Goldie is not ruling it out, and the fact the yard is even thinking this way — Jim Goldie's team has sent out 88 winners this season, so this is a stable in form — suggests Humble Spark has earned the right to find out exactly how good it can be.
