Hotterthanjuly
Hotterthanjuly is a two-year-old still waiting for a breakthrough after two races without a win or a place. The horse finished sixth most recently, a day ago, and fifth in the race before that — not the sort of record that jumps off the page, but worth remembering that at this age, plenty of horses take time to find their feet.Based on TrackLab's analysis

Our model's view, based on this horse's career and recent runs
What's worth watching is the trainer. Richard Hannon's yard at Herridge in Wiltshire has already sent out 118 winners this season, which puts him among the sharpest operations in the country. A trainer at that level doesn't keep a horse in training for long if there's nothing there — so the fact that Hotterthanjuly is still racing, still active, suggests Hannon sees something worth developing. Two races is early days for a young horse, and a pair of mid-field finishes doesn't rule out improvement down the line.
