Honouramongthieves

The recent form figures make for honest reading: 6-7-6-6-5-2. That second place is the highlight, a glimpse of what might be possible, but it has been followed by four runs in which the horse has finished no better than fifth. Racing just one day ago, Honouramongthieves is clearly an active, regularly campaigned horse, which at least suggests the team believe there is a race to be won somewhere down the line.

The trainer is Kevin Thomas Coleman, operating out of Carrick-on-Suir in County Tipperary. The yard has sent out 8 winners this season, so this is not an outfit without ability — they know how to get horses winning. The question is whether Coleman can find the right opportunity for a horse that, so far, has shown it can get close without getting over the line. For a three-year-old, there is still time, and patience from a yard that keeps running it suggests they haven't given up on finding the right spot.
