The horse clearly has preferences. On normal ground conditions, Homeland transforms into something altogether sharper: two wins from eight races means it wins roughly 1 in 4 when the surface suits. Over distances between 1 mile 3 furlongs and 1 mile 4 furlongs, the pattern repeats — one win from four races at that trip, a 25% win rate. Those numbers suggest that when Thomas Faulkner's yard finds the right race with the right ground, Homeland has a genuine chance. Faulkner, based at Devauden in Monmouths, has already sent out 16 winners this season, so the stable is plainly in form.

Connor Beasley has partnered Homeland for nine races, winning once together — a win rate of roughly 1 in 9. It is not spectacular, but the pair rode out Homeland's breakthrough victory at Ripon on 29 July 2025, and consistency with one jockey often pays dividends. Homeland typically competes at Class 6 level, where winning has come at a rate of just 1 in 11, yet the horse rarely disappoints by much. Having raced as recently as yesterday, Homeland remains very much in active work, and the trainer plainly believes there are more winning opportunities to come.
