Hilly Filly

The win came at Cork on 10 July this year, and that remains the most recent victory — now three months in the past. Since then, the form has been mixed. In the last three races, the horse ran seventh most recently, then second before that, and first before that, which tells you the pattern has been erratic rather than a clean upward curve. Still, a second-place finish shows Hilly Filly can compete and get close to winning again. The horse is trained by Ross O'Sullivan at Kilcullen in County Kildare, a yard that has already sent out 40 winners this season, so there is clear competence in the stable. Hilly Filly raced just yesterday, which means the horse is actively campaigned and likely to run again soon. Whether that recent seventh-place finish was a blip or a sign the horse needs time to find form again will become clear quickly enough.
