High Fibre

The most recent evidence suggests High Fibre might be hitting a purple patch. It won at Kempton Park just last week and backed that up with a second place the race before that. Given it last raced only yesterday, this is clearly a horse being kept very busy right now — and the form suggests the yard are right to do so.

The ground makes a significant difference. On normal conditions, High Fibre has won 3 of its 13 races — a win rate of 23%, or nearly 1 in 4. That is meaningfully better than its overall record and tells you something important: when the conditions suit, this horse is a genuine contender. It tends to run at Class 4 level, which sits in the middle of the racing ladder — competitive enough to test a horse, without quite reaching the top-tier events. At that level, it has won 2 of its 9 races, again around 1 in 4.

The partnership with jockey Bryan Carver is an interesting wrinkle. The two have been paired together 8 times and are yet to win together. That is not necessarily damning — sometimes two capable individuals just don't click — but it is worth noting when everything else about the horse's recent form looks so promising. Harry Fry's yard in Corscombe, Dorset has sent out 25 winners this season, so the team clearly knows what it is doing. High Fibre started its career with a win at Newmarket in October 2021, and nearly five years later, it is still running, still winning, and still giving the yard reasons to keep the entries coming.
