Trained by Richard Fahey at Musley Bank in North Yorkshire, Hidden Gift has the backing of a yard that knows how to develop young horses. Fahey's operation has already sent out 23 winners this season, so the infrastructure is there for a horse to progress. The fact that Hidden Gift is back out racing regularly, just a day after its last outing, shows the trainer is keeping the horse active and busy — a common approach with 2-year-olds who need experience more than anything else. Time and racing will tell whether Hidden Gift has the ability to break its duck, but right now it is exactly where it should be: in the care of a trainer with a track record and getting plenty of chances to learn.
