Hexagonal

The recent form is genuinely encouraging, though. Finishing fourth and then second in its last two completed runs suggests Hexagonal is in decent shape and running consistently well. There were a couple of blank efforts in the middle of that recent sequence, and a thirteenth-place finish lurking in there too, but the current trajectory is pointing in the right direction. Raced just yesterday, this is a horse in active campaign and clearly fit enough to keep competing at this level.

The trainer behind all this is Denis Gerard Hogan, operating out of Cloughjordan in County Tipperary. With 56 winners sent out already this season, Hogan's yard is clearly a busy and productive operation — that kind of output puts it among the more prolific yards around, and it means Hexagonal is being trained by someone who knows how to get horses to win races. Whether Hexagonal finally manages to reward that effort is the story still being written.
