Across 25 races, Havana Touch has won 3 times and finished in the frame on 7 other occasions, which works out at roughly 1 win in every 8 races — not a flashy number on the surface. But the way those wins have arrived tells you something more useful than the overall record does. Two of those three victories have come on wet or muddy ground, at distances between seven furlongs and a mile, where Havana Touch wins 2 from 9 — around 1 in every 4 or 5 races at those conditions and trips. That is a meaningful difference. When the ground is soft and the distance suits, this is a horse worth paying attention to.

The most striking quirk in the profile is the class record. Havana Touch has raced 13 times at Class 5 — the bread-and-butter level of British racing — and has not won once at that grade. Yet the three wins have still come, which means they have arrived in other company. It is a strange pattern, and not an easy one to explain, but it does suggest Havana Touch can occasionally punch above expectations when the circumstances align, even if routine assignments at the lower level have not produced results.

Recent form has been quietly encouraging after a rough patch mid-season. After a run of finishing seventh, ninth, eighth, and ninth, Havana Touch bounced back with a second place and then a win at Kempton this week — trained by John Butler, whose Newmarket yard has been in good nick with 27 winners already this season. That winning return came on April 1st, 2026, and the timing matters: it means the horse is in form right now, not carrying the weight of a stale campaign.

One footnote worth noting: regular partner Darragh Keenan has yet to get Havana Touch into the winner's enclosure in five attempts together. That is not necessarily a knock on either party — partnerships take time to click, and the sample is small — but the wins have come with other riders in the saddle. Something for the yard to quietly consider.
